I chose to interview one of my best friends from home, Drew Wolk. Wolk is a marketing major at The University of Arizona and just finished up his junior year. He is from Encino, California and is one of the founders of Caddy Splash. Caddy Splash is a golf company started by three college students who create modern-day innovatie golf accessories for golfers of all ages.
It is incredible to see Wolk’s hard work and dedication pay off. We have spent our lives being by each other’s side and on the golf course. His love for golf is seen in the effort he puts into his work every day. The first time I realized how big Caddy Splash has grown to be was when I got to college. I have a Caddy Splash club cleaner on the side of my bag and the first time I took my clubs out to play, some of my closest friends from across the country knew what it was without knowing my connection to the company.
This past week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Wolk to ask him some questions to further learn what Caddy Splash means to him.
Q: Who are you and what do you do for Caddy Splash?
A: “My name is Drew Wolk and I am the marketing director for Caddy Splash. My main role with the company is to create content for paid and organic advertisements.”
Q: What is Caddy Splash and how did it get started?
A: “Caddy Splash is a golf company started by my brother, Jake Wolk, his best friend, Jason Piller, and I. We specialize in creating utility golf products that help golfers clean and maintain their golf equipment. We make golf club water brushes, magnetic towels, hats, golf shoe cleaning kits, groove sharpeners, and tees.”
Q: What market of people are you looking to reach with Caddy Splash?
A: “We target our products to men and women golfers between the ages of 18-60.”
Q: How has Caddy Splash changed your view on golf?
A: “Caddy Splash has shown that every person can play golf. It’s a game that anyone can play for a long time.”
Q: What is your favorite thing you have done with Caddy Splash?
A: “My favorite thing about Caddy Splash is building valuable products for golfers to enjoy.”
Q: What does Caddy Splash mean to you?
A: “To me, Caddy Splash is a community of like minded golfers that want to lower their scores on the course. I love surrounding myself with people who have similar interests, and Caddy Splash is a platform that allows for this community building.”
Q: What is your favorite part about working for Caddy Splash and owning your own company with your brother?
A: “My favorite part of Caddy Splash is being able to work with my older brother around the game that we both love. Owning a company with my brother definitely has its pros and cons. We still argue like brothers do, but communication comes easy for us and we have many of the same ideas.”
Interviewing Wolk allowed me to dive deeper into his behind the scenes view of Caddy Splash. I have talked to him about the company in the past and have always had an outsider’s view, but interviewing and asking in-depth questions opened my eyes to what Caddy Splash really is. Not only has the company reshaped Wolk’s view on golf, but it has given him and all golfers a sense of community. It is incredible to see someone who I have been close with since I was born bring a successful new product to the golf market.
