Valhalla Golf Club Hosts the 2024 PGA Championship for the First Time since 2014

The PGA Championship is one of the PGA Tour and golf’s most prestigious tournaments, built around tradition and history. First played in 1916, the PGA Championship is the second of the four major tournaments played during the golf season. The other three being The Masters, U.S. Open and The Open Championship. Over the years, the PGA Championship has been home to some of the most memorable moments in golf history. Tiger Woods winning a 3-hole playoff in 2000. John Daly winning the tournament in 1991 after he was supposed to be an alternate if someone backed out. Phil Mickelson won the tournament in 2021 at 50 years old after not winning a major tournament since 2016. These are just three of the many legendary moments from the PGA Championship.

The 2024 PGA Championship will yet again be another thrilling tournament. Golfers worldwide will compete for four days, May 16-19, at The Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky looking to win the Wanamaker Trophy. The field consists of a combination between golf legends, season vets and rising stars; all looking for a chance to win one of the four major tournaments. Defending champ Xander Shauffle looks to defend his title and cement his mark as one of the top golfers on the PGA Tour. Other contenders to win the tournament are, world number one, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy and many other of the best players from around the world.

The Valhalla Golf Club is one of the most premier golf destinations in the United States. Designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, Valhalla has hosted the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup Tournament. The beautiful fairways, difficult sand traps, and tricky greens provide a real test for golfers competing in the major tournament.

When it comes to who is going to win the PGA Championship, it’s anyone’s guess as golf is one of the most unpredictable games in the world. I believe Scottie Sheffler will take home the Wanamaker Trophy this year. The New Jersey native captured his first PGA Tour win in 2021 and his first major tournament win in 2022. Coming off a win at The Masters, major tournament number one of the year, Scheffler has powerful drives, immaculate iron play and a confident personality that I think will put him over the edge. While this is my opinion, anyone can go out and play the tournament of their lives and take home the championship. Whether it is a breakout tournament by a newcomer or a veteran making their return to glory, the 2024 PGA Championship will bring an immense amount of excitement for golf fans around the world.
